Sarajevo is for the first time presented in the publication City Leaders in 2011, a result of the team work between PropertyEU and MIPIM World, organizations that operate globally with the purpose of real estate development and development of the main database for investors around the world.

City Leaders presents 100 leading European cities that are part of the common market for international investors. According to City Leaders, the city of Sarajevo is classified as 'Reinvented capitals', which means that Sarajevo is a developing city capital with a great potential for dynamic economic development.

City Leaders writes about Sarajevo: exceptional geographical position of the city of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its climate, geological, demographic and macroeconomic characteristics, contributed to Sarajevo being the hub of public administration and economy. A good business climate is the result of successful cooperation between public and private sector, improving the overall economic development. The city is also a major education center.

One of the priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the establishment of ICT incubators and technology parks at university centers like Sarajevo. Major European routes run through Sarajevo, connecting it to Budapest on the north and Ploce on the south. The city has a developed system of public transportation: trolley buses, trams and buses. Sarajevo is certainly becoming a major playground for infrastructure: many roads have been restored, the tram system is in the phase of reconstruction and modernization, as well as new bridges and roads.

City policy is geared to tourism development, which was rewarded by a positive review in the Lonely Planet that classified Sarajevo in the top 10 tourist destinations in 2010. Sarajevo is also continuously working on improving the business climate of the city. Urban municipalities have business centers that provide free access to information, and professional and legal assistance to domestic and foreign investors.
