It is safe to say that everyone has loved someone or something in their life time. If you pay close attention to the use of the word love, you'll see it's used a lot. The question is "Do we mean it when we say it?". "Do we know what love is?" or better yet, Do we know how to love?
When B. Paskal said : THE HEART HAS ITS REASONS WHICH REASONS KNOW NOTHING OF. He really wanted to explain what love is. Love makes people do strange things, things that may seem unreasonable. Some people talk freely about love, as if they really know what it is. We see love depicted in great artworks, in literature, and in music. We see the many different faces of love as expressed by many different people through different mediums. But do we really know what love is? Can we trust ourselves when it comes to love? Are we really sure that the love we talk about is really what it is and not what it is not?
Wikipedia says love is hard to define because it's used so many ways. People say "I love those shoes" or " I love that movie". We also say we love golfing, skiing, driving , etc. We love our husbands, wives, but not the same way we love our family, friends, and neighbors. Are we fooling ourselves? Are we lacking the ability to express our feelings? Maybe we don't know what we feel. All we know is that whenever we get that semi-fuzzy feeling inside about someone or something, we "love" it!
Each person loves according to his or her own needs. That means most of us love our partner in exactly the way that we ourselves want or expect to be loved, and not necessarily the way our partner wants or expects to be loved. When love expectations differs, each partner is likely to feel unappreciated and unloved. When partners interpret love from different emotional and behavioral perspectives, the quality and the longevity of their love suffers.
Different love definitions can separate partners like oceans divide continents! Their individual expectations prevent them from fully loving and respecting each other. When one says "I love you," the other assumes that "love" means the same thing to both. But unfortunately, the word "love" appears to have just as many different meanings and expectations as there are people on this planet.
If we try to choose between human's love and God's love, then what will be our choice to define love as reality and constant thing and not as temporary thing dependable of other's persons needs , desires and love perception. That will be our next topic to discuss , stay tuned folks.
