Bosnian soccer star Edin Dzeko scored four times, while fasting, as he and debutant Samir Nasri helped Manchester City put Tottenham to the sword with a ruthless display of attacking football at White Hart Lane.

Nasri supplied the crosses for Dzeko to score his first two goals and he also played his part in the run up to Sergio Aguero's strike, which made it 4-0 with half an hour to go.

In news media it is often discussed how football (soccer) players observe the fast of month of Ramadan even during championship games. Many may hold the opinion that players who fast aren't able to give their 100 percent each game, but in contrary, facts seem to prove just the opposite.

Bosnia's ban from international football has been lifted, four days after the country's football federation adopted new statutes.

The Royal Emirates Group of Companies wouldn't say exactly how much it paid for the topflight Spanish club. But Kaiser Rafiq, a partner and managing director of the business conglomerate, said the price ranged from 70-90 million euros ($100 to $130 million).

"(Getafe president) Angel Torres felt this landmark agreement will lead to new business relationships being forged between UAE and Spain.
"In the spirit of this joint endeavour and to show the solidarity of the people of Dubai it was announced that Getafe CF will now add the tag line "Team Dubai" to its crest.
"Royal Emirates Group plans to invest heavily in inducting new blood and promoting the team in the region with the aim to make Dubai a transcending sky bridge between Europe and the Middle East."


 

FIFA and UEFA previously ordered the NSBiH to cut its three-member presidency to one or face sanctions.

But a general assembly meeting in Sarajevo earlier this week failed to find a resolution with the NSBiH opting to continue with its current structure of three leaders to satisfy the country's political make-up.

The federation currently consists of two associations: one a Bosnian Serb and another shared by Bosniaks and Bosnian Croats, headed by a Bosniak, a Croat and a Serb to reflect the country's ethnic division after the 1992-1995 war.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's upcoming Euro 2012 football qualifier against Romania this Saturday could be its last for the near future.

Bosnia and Herzegovina will be banned from FIFA and UEFA involvement unless its National Football Association, the NSBiH, amends its statute to have one president instead of the three required by its ethnic quota system. On Monday, UEFA President Michel Platini reiterated an ultimatum given last June: if the association fails to make necessary changes by March 31, the country will be suspended from international football as of April 1.

The recent sniping between the NFL and members of the Players Association seems civilized in light of a shocking story out of Moscow today. Soccer player Nikola Nikezic, who played for Kuban Krasnodar in the Russian Primier-Liga, claims he was beaten into terminating his own contract, and, in the wake of Nikezic's claims, another player has come out with a similar story.

In a letter to UEFA and FIFA, Nikezic claims he was delivered a 20-minute beating March 7 at the club's headquarters in southern Russia. In an accompanying video he said the men were armed with guns and threatened to cripple him if he didn't sign his own termination papers.He also posted a personal Youtube to Michel Platini to help him.

Wolfsburg - On Friday afternoon, VfL Wolfsburg proudly announced the signing of striker Obafemi Martins. And there was more good news for the ‘Wolves' to declare on Saturday. Edin Dzeko and VfL Wolfsburg have agreed terms on an extension to the strikers contract until June 30th 2013.
“The early contract extension with Edin Dzeko is a further positive signal for the future. Edin is a very important element of our team,” remarked VfL coach Armin Veh, who was able to announce the news just prior to the start of the coming league season.
