France Rejects Footballers' Hijab

France’s soccer federation has announced it would not allow hijab for Muslim footballers, refusing a world football governing body FIFA ruling that has allowed women to wear a headscarf in international football matches.
The French Football Association "will not authorize [female] players to wear the scarf,” an official statement was cited by The Telegraph on Saturday, July 7.

Revving dreams of female Muslim footballers, soccer’s rulemakers and its governing body FIFA agreed to allow Muslim women players to wear a headscarf during official tournaments.
"To all women players worldwide, congratulations," FIFA vice-president and executive committee member Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, who led a year-long campaign to overturn the headscarf ban, said in a statement cited by Reuters on Thursday, July 5.

In news media it is often discussed how football (soccer) players observe the fast of month of Ramadan even during championship games. Many may hold the opinion that players who fast aren't able to give their 100 percent each game, but in contrary, facts seem to prove just the opposite.
It is well know here in Kosova, that Kushtrim Breznica who plays for FC Hysi observes Ramadan each year. He doesn't brake fast on matchday's either. He was fasting on this years first match against FC KEK, and according to Breznica fasting not only didn't slow him down, fasting helped him score a goal!.

Selector of the national team of Serbia Sinisa Mihajlovic expelled from the team Adem Ljajic, because did not want to sing the anthem at the game with Spain, the statement of official Serbian Soccer Union (FSS) says. Mihajlovic is remebred by many as a very big fan and friend of notorious war crimnal Zeljko Raznjatovic Arkan who was acussed of numerous crimes in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and was killed after the war by other Serbian criminal clan. Arkan's friend, Mihajlovic is recently promoted into the national selector and this is first big decission he made.
Ljajic, who is also plays for Serie A club Fiorentina, is the only Muslim player of the Serbian national team ever. And now, even he is expelled from the team. This is just one example how Serbia in institutional way discriminates against its Muslims and other non-Serb Christian citizens.

Bosnian soccer star Edin Dzeko scored four times, while fasting, as he and debutant Samir Nasri helped Manchester City put Tottenham to the sword with a ruthless display of attacking football at White Hart Lane.
Nasri supplied the crosses for Dzeko to score his first two goals and he also played his part in the run up to Sergio Aguero's strike, which made it 4-0 with half an hour to go.
Six FIFA members accused of getting bribes in Qatar 2022 bid

Football's governing body was hit by more corruption allegations as six FIFA executive committee members were accused of receiving or demanding bribes during the bidding for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups on late Tuesday.
Issa Hayatou of Cameroon and Jacques Anouma of the Ivory Coast were allegedly paid $1.5 million to vote for Qatar, according to evidence submitted to a British Parliamentary inquiry by a British newspaper.
