Muslims often seek outside help to lose weight, although the Qur'an and Hadith provide guidance on many ways through which we can combat being overweight. They include periodic cleansings, eating simple and whole foods and herbs, avoiding excess, drinking plenty of water, praying and seeking guidance from Allah, seeking the help of others, and being persistent and patient.

Getting a full workout through jogging takes less time than doing aerobic activity. This is because it can be done in almost all types of weather, when on vacation, or at times even during the lunch breaks.

Beyond its medical importance, this may also be good news to many religious faithful worldwide. Recent findings by researchers have revealed that periodic fasting not only decreases the risk of heart problems and diabetes, but can also lower blood sugar levels.
A recent study conducted by scientists from the Intermountain Medical Centre Heart Institute, United Kingdom showed that fasting could be good for health. "These new findings demonstrate that our original discovery was not a chance event.
