Chairman of Turkey's Religious Affairs Department Mehmet Gormez met Reis-ul-ulema, or grand mufti, of Bosnia-Herzegovina Hussein Kavazovic in Ankara on Tuesday. Gormez said that people should help Syrians for humanitarian means, adding that they initiated an aid campaign for Syrians.

Czech police arrest Breivik sympathizer

PRAGUE (AP) — A man believed to be a sympathizer of Norwegian mass killer Anders Behring Breivik has been arrested in the Czech Republic for building up a stash of weapons, explosives, a detonator and an automatic rifle at his home, according to local media reports.
The 29-year-old man, living in the eastern city of Ostrava, had used Breivik's name in email communication, Czech news agency CTK reported Saturday. He was arrested Aug. 10 in Ostrava. Police would not comment further on the apparent Breivik link.

Malala Yousufzai, a 14-year-old Pakistani peace activist who was shot in the head by the Taliban, is slowly showing signs of improvement, doctors said Sunday.
An ISPR statement said that Malala had been taken off the ventilator for a while today, Pakistan's DawnNews reported.

Turkey Sends Surface-to-Air Missiles to Syrian Border

Even though Syrian rebels have seized a number of the border crossings with neighboring Turkey, the Turkish government is apparently not done escalating their own border tensions wit the regime, deploying a number of batteries of surface-to-air missiles to the Syrian border today.
This follows several rounds of deploying additional troops and tanks to the Syria-Turkish border, following the downing of a Turkish warplane. Turkey has scrambled warplanes along the border several times since then as well.

Iraq war veteran Scott Olsen, who sustained serious head injury during anti-Wall Street protests, has led Occupy Oakland protesters in a march that shut down the port of Oakland in California.
The U.S. Marine veteran who became a face of the Occupy movement after his skull was fractured by the police during the protests on October 25, led more than 1,000 protesters to Oakland's port on Monday as part of marches intended to bring cargo traffic to a halt in Oakland and across the West Coast.
